The Hunters’ Federation of San Marino has become the 36 Full Member of FACE, the European Federation of Associations for Hunting and Conservation, the largest democratically representative body for hunters in the world and one of the largest European civil society organisations.

In 1970 the Greek hunting organisations founded the Game Guard Body. They did this with one basic aim: To enforce environmental legislation in order to protect wildlife species and their habitat, prevent biodiversity loss and control wildlife illegal activities.
European Hunters’ Federation FACE underlined during a conference organised in collaboration with the European Commission the positive role of hunting in wildlife conservation and habitat restoration and claimed its right to be seen as a fully-fledged environmental organisation.
The representatives of the European hunting world from 23 countries gathered in Brussels for the annual FACE General Assembly on 4 - 5 September.
At the FACE Members Meeting 2014 in Sweden the Nordic FACE Members showcased the hunting culture and traditions in their countries outlining the exceptional status hunting and hunters enjoy in this part of Europe.
FACE MEMBERS MEETING 2014: FACE WILL BE A SIGNATORY OF THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION’S LARGE CARNIVORES AGREEMENT
At the 2014 FACE Members’ Meeting hosted by the Swedish Hunters’ Association, FACE Members agreed to sign the Agreement on the European Platform to be officially launched in June by Commissioner Janez Potočnik.
At its Board meeting on 29 August the Nordic Hunters’ Cooperation (NHC) elected Lauri Kontro from the Finnish Hunters’ Association as its new President. The meeting was held at the newly established national hunting and fishing centre (Jakt- og Fiskesenteret) of the Norwegian hunters in Flå, Norway.
