Hunting Permit Fee

The Right of Public Access does not cover hunting or fishing.  Foreign hunters who come to Sweden to hunt must pay the 400 SEK hunting permit fee. There are special rules for bringing hunting weapons to Sweden

Please note that you need to have an invitation to hunt or competition from responsible hunting or competition host. Foreign citizens – other than those who live in Norway, Finland or Denmark to whom special rules apply – need to apply for a special import permit and pay a fee up to six weeks in advance. Read more on the Swedish Police’s website.

  • Customs (to declare the firearms when entering Sweden):

You have to submit a declaration for the firearm and ammunition online to Swedish Customs. Bring the form with you and produce it at Swedish Customs upon entry. You always have to bring your weapon license from your home country or a European firearms pass.
