FACE Participates in European Conference on Cormorant Predation Management

On 3 June, FACE took part in the Conference on Management Advice to Reduce Cormorant Predation Impacts, organised by the Polish Presidency of the Council of Europe and the European Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture Advisory Commission (EIFAAC). The event was held both at the Representation of Poland to the EU and online.

With over 230 participants in attendance, the conference shed light on increasing concerns about the impact of cormorant predation on fish stocks, fisheries, and aquaculture.

A key highlight was the presentation of the draft Framework for a European management plan for the great cormorant. The plan seeks to strike a balance between species conservation and the long-term sustainability of fisheries.
