FACE Continues its Focus on Agriculture, Biodiversity and Small Game Conservation

FACE and experts from its Birds & Habitats Working Group and Agriculture and Land Use Task Force met this month to discuss key developments affecting agriculture, biodiversity conservation and small game management across Europe.

Participants exchanged views on the latest policy developments related to the future of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and assessed ongoing opportunities to strengthen the contribution of the CAP to biodiversity objectives. Particular attention was given to the implementation of effective agri-environmental measures that can deliver tangible benefits for small game species and migratory birds.

The meeting also reviewed progress on the upcoming report on agri-environmental measures for small game and migratory birds, informally referred to as the "Small Game Bible". The report aims to showcase successful conservation and habitat management measures from across Europe and provide practical examples that can support future policy development.

The meeting reaffirmed FACE's commitment to promoting policies that support sustainable agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and the recovery of small game populations throughout Europe. Participants agreed on a number of follow-up actions to continue engagement with EU institutions and national authorities in the coming months.
