On 31 August, FACE and the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC) held their first official meeting under their newly elected Presidents in Madrid. The meeting brought together CIC President Luis de la Peña and Director General Arno Wimpffen with FACE President Laurens Hoedemaker and Secretary General David Scallan.

Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation on issues affecting sustainable hunting and wildlife conservation in Europe. Both organisations agreed to develop joint activities in areas of common interest, including advice on new hunting regulations, the use of sound moderators for hunting firearms in countries where they remain prohibited, and conservation actions for small game species.

FACE and CIC also discussed their existing Memorandum of Cooperation and how it can support closer coordination between the two organisations. Particular attention was given to cooperation on European policy and communications.

CIC will participate in the forthcoming FACE General Assembly, while FACE will attend the CIC’s 73rd General Assembly in Hamburg in April 2027. These exchanges will provide further opportunities to advance shared priorities and strengthen cooperation between the two organisations.
