19 Apr 2026 FACE Honorary President Torbjörn Larsson Receives Distinguished Award at CIC General Assembly
Vienna, 18 April 2026 – FACE Honorary President Torbjörn Larsson received a distinguished award at the 72nd General Assembly of the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC) in Vienna.
The award was presented by Dr. Philipp Harmer, President of the CIC, in recognition of the strong cooperation between FACE and the CIC over many years, and Torbjörn Larsson’s longstanding contribution to promoting hunting, conservation, and international collaboration across Europe and beyond.
In presenting the award, Dr. Harmer acknowledged the close partnership between the two organisations and the important role that constructive dialogue, even when accompanied by lively debate, has played in strengthening the voice of hunters and conservationists at international level.
Upon receiving the award, Torbjörn Larsson also presented Dr. Harmer with the FACE Diana Award in recognition of their long-standing cooperation and his commitment to strengthening collaboration between FACE and the CIC.

Both speakers highlighted that while discussions have often been robust and energetic, they have always been driven by a common purpose: promoting a strong future for hunting and conservation.
The award was presented during the 72nd CIC General Assembly, which brought together more than 650 participants from across the world under the theme “Wildlife Economy“, including ministers, ambassadors, policymakers, scientists, and conservation leaders.
The Assembly focused on the role of hunting and wildlife management in supporting biodiversity, sustainable land use, and rural development, with participation from European, African, North American, and Asian stakeholders.
FACE Secretary General Dr. David Scallan also participated in the programme, contributing to discussions on the global wildlife economy with a focus on the importance of the economic, social and conservation value of hunting in Europe.
FACE values its continued cooperation with the CIC and looks forward to strengthening this partnership further in the years ahead.
