Get involved in the European Natura 2000 Award

The European Natura 2000 Award rewards excellence in the management of Natura 2000 sites, and showcases the network’s added value of conserving nature for local communities and economies across the European Union.

The call for applications for the 2024 edition is still open and its deadline has been extended. Applications for all categories will now be accepted until 23:59 CET, 12 October 2023.

All types of public and private organisations – businesses, authorities, NGOs, volunteers, landowners, educational institutions or individuals – working in one or more Natura 2000 sites across the European Union are eligible to apply.

Hunters play an invaluable role in conserving biodiversity outside and within Natura 2000 sites through their active participation in numerous initiatives, as exemplified by the projects featured in the Biodiversity Manifesto. Their contributions are key in effectively implementing European conservation policies in the field.

See previous winners on the dedicated Winners’ page as well as the other benefits of applying for the Award.
