Sharing good practice for goose hunting

In November 2021, AEWA’s European Goose Management Platform (EGMP) held a webinar dedicated to the issue of the crippling of geese while hunting and associated good practices to reduce it.

The 4 presentations went over several aspects of crippling including:

⦿ What is crippling, what are its causes and consequences? Experiences from the Danish Action Plan
⦿ How to use crippling rates in population models?
⦿ Ongoing monitoring of crippling in geese
⦿ Practical courses in effective goose shooting and avoidance of crippling

The 4 presentations went over several aspects of crippling FACE welcomes initiatives such as this which aim to advance sustainable hunting as well as sharing knowledge and best practices.
