Further developed and optimised, the R8 Professional 2.0 is presented by Blaser as a hunting companion designed for demanding conditions.

“The R8 Professional has been appreciated by hunters for more than ten years,” says Blaser CEO Christian Socher, “and that is precisely why we are now offering the rifle in an optimised version.” The new model combines technical improvements with practical functions that help adapt the rifle to the individual needs of the hunter.

Interchangeable modules for the stock allow the length to be adjusted. Equipped with a 370 mm stock as standard, the R8 Professional 2.0 can be shortened to 355 mm or extended to 390 mm using the appropriate module, which the user can change easily. The receiver is permanently bedded into the stock as standard, supporting rigidity and precision, and ensuring strong resistance to external influences.

An adjustable comb helps maintain an optimal sight line when aiming. The comb height can be adjusted without tools: a single button press allows up to 30 mm of adjustment and can be lowered again for transport. A steeper pistol grip supports a more relaxed hand position when shooting, contributing to accuracy. The ergonomically optimised palm swell features a tactile design on both sides. Christian Socher adds: “This means that the stock is designed for both right- and left-handed shooters.”

New elastomer inserts on the pistol grip and fore-end feature an innovative surface texture to provide a secure grip, even when wet. Using two-component manufacturing technology, the stock and inserts are precisely and permanently bonded. The DLC A+ coating on the barrel surface offers high hardness and corrosion protection, while reducing maintenance needs. It also gives the barrel a silky matt, deep black finish.

The R8 Professional 2.0 is also available in a Silence version and remains compatible with existing R8 assemblies, including interchangeable barrels, bolts, and magazine trigger units.
