FACE Position on Hunting Tourism

FACE recently approved a new position on hunting tourism at its General Assembly, providing clarity on a topic increasingly discussed at the international level, including in work related to the prevention of illegal killing of birds.

The new position outlines how hunting tourism, when conducted in line with European law and the principles of sustainable use, can contribute positively to conservation, rural economies, cultural heritage, and responsible wildlife management.

It highlights the relevance of existing international guidance—such as the European Charter on Hunting and Biodiversity and recent decisions under the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS)—and reaffirms FACE’s commitment to promoting good practice.
