European Red Deer Calling Championship 2025 – Celebrating Skill, Tradition and Passion for Nature

The 26th European Red Deer Calling Championship took place this weekend at the magnificent Raudonė Castle in Lithuania, gathering the continent’s most talented deer callers from 11 European countries. Against the scenic backdrop of the Nemunas River valley, the event once again celebrated one of Europe’s most distinctive and respected hunting traditions.

Competitors demonstrated remarkable vocal precision, control, and emotional connection to nature, imitating the powerful and complex sounds of red deer stags during the rut. This ancient skill is more than a competition — it is an expression of respect for wildlife, deep knowledge of animal behaviour, and the bond between humans and nature that lies at the heart of European hunting culture.
